Slow Summer No. 4- Morning Rituals

Making coffee in the morning almost always brings a nuzzle against my leg from LG, our fur baby who arrived courtesy of the cat distribution system. He has become part of the gentle presence of home—the small, familiar things that quietly tell us we belong.

Next to a morning walk, morning coffee may be my favorite time of day. It is a few unhurried moments to notice the peace my home provides before the day begins, and to remember the comfort waiting for me when I return at the end of a busy day.

Maybe that is part of what home gives us. Not simply a place to begin and end the day, but a quiet reassurance that something familiar is waiting for us there.
